South received over 60 calls reporting water damage
SOUTH PORTLAND (WGME) --Fire officials drove down streets and traveled from neighborhood to neighborhood.
They were looking out for any standing water that might be left and roads still compromised.
Fortunately, most of Wednesday night's problems were resolved Thursday morning.
One of the biggest trouble spots was near Main Street, where construction crews are working on a water sewer separation project.
The heavy rain nearly toppled a trailer, and surrounding dirt roads were washed away but this Thursday afternoon, they were still getting calls from residents to check on flooded basements, and make sure utilities were turned off.
Wednesday night South Portland fire got 60 calls between ten and midnight.
Certainly slower on Thursday and in all this, they say it really is remarkable that no one was injured.
