State regulators close some waterways this scallop season
STATE WIDE (WGME) -- Maine is looking to shut down several waterways to scallop fishing this season.
State regulators say it's an attempted to rebuild the fishery.
Officials say they're considering a plan that would shut down some areas while one area would be open.
Twice a week during the December to April season, the Department of Marine Resources is warning fishermen that this coming season could be subject to an emergency closure.
