Man throws $7,000 in crack into water during chase, police say

LEWISTON (WGME) -- A man is accused of leading police on a foot chase then chucking thousands of dollars worth of crack into the water.

Police say they tried to stop 30-year-old Terrance Haskins Monday night in Lewiston, when he bolted out of the car and lead the officer on a foot chase. Police say Haskins threw bag into the Lincoln Street Canal.

The officer caught Haskins and police were able to find the bag, which they say had more than $7,000 worth of crack cocaine.
