Problematic properties in Old Orchard Beach during the off season
OLD ORCHARD BEACH (WGME) -- Late night fights, drugs in dumpsters, and domestic violence, when rent prices drop in Old Orchard Beach during the winter, residents say so does the quality of life.
Town leaders say low rent prices mean high crime in the off season and they're going to start cracking down on troublesome landlords.
Armond Vachon, resident and business owner, says: It's getting progressively worse, nows the time to nip this in the bud. We will never have more time than we do right now.
Larry Mead, Town Manager, says: That property goes bad and it can go down the street and we don't want that to happen.
There is a meeting Wednesday at town hall about these problematic properties.
