Brunswick family hoping to bring lifesaving devices to town
BRUNSWICK (WGME) -- A Brunswick family wants to bring new locator devices to town to help monitor children with disabilities and the elderly. It's called Project Lifesaver.
The program includes bracelet monitor devices that can track the location of people with special needs who may have the tendency to bolt or wander.
The system would be installed at the Brunswick Police Department, allowing them to track microchips in the bracelets within minutes.
The family and some of their friends will be collecting donations at the Orange Leaf in Brunswick and Portland this weekend.
The stores will also donate a percentage of their profits to the cause.
