UPDATE: Sick eagle found in Bangor doing well, eaglets discovered

BANGOR (WGME) -- Maine wardens say the bald eagle seen wandering around Bangor didn't have any physical injuries, but was suffering from lead and toxin poisoning.

The bird was taken to Avian Haven in Freedom and we are happy to report is doing a lot better.

The female bird is now standing up on her own and could one day be released back to the wild.

The eagle is also a mother.

A man climbed almost 100 feet in the air to rescue two eaglets.

Aside from being very hungry, the baby eagles are ok and expected to make a full recovery.
