Former state police chief facing more serious sex allegations
PORTLAND (WGME) -- A former Maine State Police chief is now facing even more serious sex allegations.
73-year-old Andrew Demers was originally charged with unlawful sexual contact with a four-year-old child, but on Friday, a Cumberland Grand Jury indicted him on that charge and gross sexual assault.
Police say the victim was a child he was babysitting and that the incidents happened nine or ten times over the last several months.
He's due in court next week.
