Run for Boston Marathon bombing victims in Portland

PORTLAND (WGME) -- Dozens of runners showed that they're "Boston Strong" Wednesday night along the Back Cove, running to raise money for the Boston One Fund.

Boston Marathon bombing survivor Karen McWatters officially started the 5K run. "For me it was fun to be at the start of the racing season and to be able to start the first race of the racing season," said McWatters. "It's just like moving on and spring is coming and we'll see lots of races here through the spring and summer."

Mayor Michael Brennan gave McWatters an official Boston Marathon jacket before the run. McWatters will also be at a blood drive on Saturday, May 3 at the American Red Cross in Portland.
