Vigil Friday night for Ayla Reynolds
BIDDEFORD (WGME) -- On what would've been Ayla Reynolds' fourth birthday, her family held a vigil to honor the girl who's been missing since December 2011.
Ayla's mother, Trista Reynolds, says this is the last vigil she will hold in honor of her little girl. Ayla's birthday is April 4 and she would be 4-years-old , however investigators say they don't believe the little girl is alive.
Trista Reynolds tells CBS 13 News she is choosing to step out of the public eye so she can focus on raising her 3-year-old and 8-month old sons, while she continues to push investigators to make an arrest in connection with Ayla's disappearance.
"I've got to think someday soon I'm going to have justice, and going to be able to bring Ayla home to do what I need to do for her," Reynolds said.
Ayla was in her father Justin DiPietro's care when he reported her missing on Dec. 17, 2011. Investigators who found blood inside the home concluded the child is no longer alive and was a victim of foul play.
Reynolds believes DiPietro had something to do with Ayla's disappearance. Claims DiPietro has repeatedly denied. State police say DiPietro has stopped cooperating with the investigation.
