Routine traffic violation leads to major drug bust in Auburn

AUBURN (WGME) -- On Sunday, an Auburn police officer pulled over a rental vehicle on Washing Street for a traffic violation.

During the traffic stop, the officer found 113 grams of crack cocaine and 237 grams of heroin hidden in the vehicle. The street value of the drugs is estimated at $75,000.

25-year-old Jean Valbrun of Lowell, Mass. was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated drug trafficking.

He is being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on $50,000 cash bail.

Officials say Valbrun was traveling with his two children, ages nine and one.
