Homebrewers association host beer making rally in Portland
PORTLAND (WGME) -- Beer makers from around the area were at Allagash Brewery Thursday. The American Homebrewers Association hosted a rally to celebrate beer making.
Members of the association went on a tour of Allagash Brewery in Portland tasting beer samples.
Rob Tod, the founder of Allagash, says they will talk about beer making and show brewers the difference between making beer at home and on a commercial scale.
He says it's important to show appreciation for the homebrewers.
"Home brewers have always been a huge supporters of our industry and the craft beer movement, said Tod. So we just love having them here to thank them and to show them what we have going on at Allagash Brewery."
Tod says there are more than one million home brewers in the country and 40,000 members of the homebrewers association.
