Nova Scotia provides more support for ferry line
PORTLAND/NOVA SCOTIA (WGME) -- Nova Scotias government is providing money to help a cruise line meet federal requirements in the U.S.
Government officials say theyre giving Nova Star Cruises $2 million to post a bond required by the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission to sell tickets for ferry service between Halifax and Portland.
Nova Scotia has committed to $21 million over the next seven years to aid the ferry service. The Portland to Halifax service will start in May.
