Strive event helps local teens

PORTLAND (WGME)-A seemingly ordinary Friday night for many teens and young adults is extraordinary for one group. Strive Night is an opportunity for people from 15 to 24 years old with development disabilities to go out and have a fun time.
Janet DiBiase's son comes to the event, to dance, listen to music and play pool.
"My son, he's nonverbal and he really acclimates to adults, so, he really doesn't have a lot of peer friends, so, this is his social time," said DiBiase
Strive is a non-profit organization designed to help young people with disabilities.
Strive Night has added Strive Rocks, an all night dance marathon fundraiser at the Maine Mall held March first and second.
