No charges filed for boy’s death in Port Clyde

PORT CLYDE (WGME) -- There will be no criminal charges filed in the death of a nine year old boy in Port Clyde last summer. It happened last august, when police say a car driven by 61-year-old Nancy Torgerson of New York went out of control at a ferry terminal,.

According to police reports, the car accelerated suddenly, hitting several cars and four people.

One of the people hit, nine year old Dylan Gold of Cohasset, Massachusetts died on his way to the hospital.

"The accelerator pedal went to 100 percent and the brake went off.  So everything that happened in the next ten seconds or so, in that very compressed period of time, we have to look at to see if that's criminal negligence and I did not think the evidence showed that," said Knox County District Attorney Geoffrey Rushlau.
