Arrest made in Portland Walgreens robbery

PORTLAND (WGME) -- A 34-year-old Portland woman is in custody after being arrested for a robbery at Walgreens on Allen Avenue in Portland.

Elisabeth Sanborn is being held at the Cumberland County Jail after police say she asked for prescription drugs Sunday morning and made a threat involving an explosive device. Sanborn went into Walgreens around 9 AM and made her threat, police say.

She left with an undisclosed amount of prescription medicine and was arrested when she returned to Walgreens around 11 a.m. Police searched her vehicle in the Walgreens' parking lot but found no explosive device.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call police at 874-8575.

Police are investigating an early morning robbery at the Walgreens near the intersection of Allen and Washington Avenues in Portland. No details are being released yet as police begin their investigation. The robbery was reported at 9 a.m. Stay with CBS 13 News for any updates.
