Saint Joseph's College students accused of throwing acid bombs

STANDISH (WGME) -- Two students from Saint Joseph's College in Standish are accused STANDISH (WGME) -- Two students from Saint Joseph's College in Standish are accused of throwing acid bombs out of their dorm rooms Wednesday.

Investigators say 18-year-old Victor Santos, of Framingham, Mass., and 19-year-old Brandon Ward, of Houlton, threw three acid bombs out a second-story window in Standish Hall, a campus dormitory. Two of them exploded outside the dorm's emergency exit.

They're both charged with criminal use of explosives.

State police say an acid bomb is usually made of household solvents inside a plastic soda bottle. The ingredients explode in a chemical reaction.

Nobody was injured in the incident.
