Augusta pantry in desperate need of supplies

AUGUSTA (WGME) -- The shelves are bare at an Augusta pantry where families go for essential products like toilet paper, toothpaste, and shampoo.

The everyday basics panty at St. Marks Church is open two times a month, and in order to open again on March first, it needs your help to stock up on products.

St. Marks also provides a clothing bank and food pantry for needy families.

Volunteers say they help more than 100 people each time the everyday basics pantry is open and as the demand grows, there is no way to operate without donations from the community.

Saint Marks is looking for soap, shampoo, toilet paper and diapers. These donations can be dropped off at St. Mark's, 9 Summer Street, Augusta.

You can also make a monetary donation. Checks should be made payable to Everyday Basics and sent to St. Mark's Church, 9 Summer Street, Augusta 04330.
