Driver seriously hurt in Oxford crash
OXFORD (WGME) -- A driver is suffering serious head injuries after a wrecker broad-sided his vehicle Monday afternoon.
The Oxford County Sheriff's Office says the driver of a black, 2013 Kia Optima was pulling onto Route 26 from Oxford Street around 4 p.m. when a wrecker t-boned his car on the driver's side.
The driver of the Kia, whose name was not released Monday night, was suffering serious head injuries and had to be LifeFlighted to Maine Medical Center, according to the sheriff's office. Deputies also say there was a female passenger who was hospitalized at Stevens Memorial Hospital in Norway. Her injuries and identity were also unknown Monday night.
The crash is under investigation.
