Book Banned At Book Fairs: Character Has Same Sex Parents

The election may be over, but some are still fighting they say for the rights of same sex families...this time taking on one of the largest publishers of childrens books.
Scholastic is not making the book luv ya bunches available at elementary school book fairs.
The company says it reviewed the book and kept it out of the fairs.
One of the main characters has same sex parents.
School librarian Kelley McDaniel says that is not the central theme in the book, instead the book is about four girls and their lives entering fifth grade, questioning why Scholastic would exclude the book, calling it censorship.
Scholastic released this statement: "Scholastic does not censor books. We are committed to a review process that considers all books equally regardless of their inclusion of LGBT (lesbian gay bisexual transgender) characters and same sex parents."
Scholastic says it will make the book available at middle school fairs in the spring, but elementary school fairs will still not feature the book.
Still some parents say the book should not be sold at fairs at all without parental consent.
