Secretary Of State: Voter Turnout Sets New Record
All the interest in the same sex marriage question clearly drove a lot of people to the polls on Tuesday.
So many in fact, that they broke a record. Secretary of State Matt Dunlap, who originally predicted a 35 percent turnout, now says it's looking more like 55 to 60 percent of registered voters did their civic duty on Tuesday. Dunlap says those numbers are preliminary and final tally wont be known until sometime before Thanksgiving, but that beat the old record for an off-year election of 50.9 percent, set back in 2003.
