With the end of summer quickly approaching and many kids going back to school, how would you rate the summer season this year?

Comment: I will rate this summer season on the weather because that effects everyone and no one can do anything about it. I can honestly say that during the several decades that I have lived in Maine, I have never seen such a rainy summer. I have seen the entire month of June ruined by almost constant rain, but this summer it was both June AND July that were ruined. It hasn't even felt much like summer. At this time of year, I start to mourn the loss of summer, but this year I don't think I will since the summer was so crappy anyways. After such a lousy summer, 'they' ought to cancel winter to make up for it!! from Augusta by Lloyd

Comment: We definitely had to be more creative this summer with extended time indoors, but we had lots of fun in the rain or shine. Hoping a gorgeous September and October help balance out the early gloominess of June and July. from Augusta, ME by Staci

Comment: It was an aweful summer season from gardiner by George

Comment: this is the worst summer that i can remember, ive took several rides down oob on a friday and saturday nite and the place looks like a ghost town, hopefully this fall is better, iam moving too florida!!! from arundel, maine by robert

Comment: Short, fast and verrrrry wet from Casco, ME by Trish

Comment: I can't rate this summer because I am still waiting for it. :-) from Westbrook by Peter

Comment: There was a summer? from West Bath by George

Comment: What summer? Living in Maine one expects rapidly changing weather, but this year with all the rain, I feel like we went right from March into September with a 3-day summer in May and Indian Summer for 3-4 days in August...now it's back to school and cool evenings....BLAH!!! from Winthrop by Charle

Comment: i think it has stunk what summer i want a whole new one now from augusta .maine by patty

Comment: I think it was a very rainy season but most of the time the weather was good. from Me by sophie

Comment: This was one of those wet, washed out summers. I remember we had one of those quite a few years ago....it wasn't any fun.... from Buxton by Laurie

Comment: Well... August was good weatherwise, however we could have done without the 22 inches of rain. I think 9 or 10 would have been sufficent Mother Nature. from Saco, ME by Tyler

Comment: summer was grand; I became an aunt again! That makes all the rain bearable; otherwise... from Standish by Stephanie
