Comment: I'm concerned about the side effect of the vaccine, don't know if I would have the shot if available from maine by babs
Comment: of course i am it causes nerve damage from what i hear. the best thing is to actually contract the virus and let it runs its course by jen
Comment: I have heard that it will take 7 shots to cover the H1N1 swine flu... also that the sate wants to make it mandatory for my children to have this before returning to school...What are my rights concerning this??? I do not agree with the mandation. from Dixfield by Jenna
Comment: I am very concerned for children who go to public school, where the vaccine may be mandated. The vaccine isn't even ready yet, and they are talking about putting it into every child before flu season. It can take YEARS for medications and vaccine to be approved through the FDA, but this will be less than a year. Is the government prepared to treat America's children like guinea pigs? from Buckfield, ME by Heather
Comment: Depending on the manufacturer, H1N1 may contain a potentially debilitating oil based adjuvant (additive) primarily composed of squalene (MF59, AS03, AS04). All laboratory rats injected with squalene (oil) adjuvants developed a disease that left them crippled, dragging their paralyzed hindquarters across their cages. Injected squalene can cause severe arthritis (3 on scale of 4) and severe immune responses such as autoimmune arthritis and lupus. References: (1) Kenney RT, Edleman, R. Comment: There are great side effects that the body can not combat. Swine flu- thou discomforting, can be combatted by your immune system from lewiston me by coleen
Comment: Anytime they rush to get a vaccine into production there are unknown side effects and especially the long term residual affects. I am hoping that this is not a required vaccine but an optional one as I will not opt to have my children exposed to the risk. from Gorham, ME by Laurie
Comment: Of course I am worried. The long term effects (if any) will not be known for several years. I am not sure if that risk is worth taking. from Manchester/maine by Jennifer
Comment: It's not right to give our children a vaccine that isn't thoroughly tested. by C
Comment: The last time a vaccine was developed it killed more people than the flu itself. Parents should have the right to choose whether to have their children vaccinated. from Cape Elizabeth, ME by Rachel
Comment: yes I heard it kill 25 people in the uk already from lewiston by pete
Comment: My children will not be getting the vaccine. from Pownal by Matt
Comment: I am nervous that my child will have a bad reaction but on the other hand do I take the risk of her getting the H1N1 virus instead? by Michelle
