Comment: Michael Jackson was and will remain a historical icon to the entertainment industry. His passing symbolizes the loss of a part of history, esp. to a certain generation who moved through their impressionable years with his music in succession. In terms of my memory, his purple socks and moonwalk will always come to mind. He, however, was no doubt plagued by unrest in numerous ways that unfortunately were "caught on tape" by the press. In such a public eye, due to stardom, his privacey was nonexistant. How sad an existance, being under a microscope at every turn. I understand he was religious, and hope that his beliefs brought him peace in the end, regardless of what is publicized about his death and surrounding circumstances. My regrets go out to someone who has died so young and to his family who will have to carry on without him. Although all of us as a public feel his loss of life, culturally, it is his family that will feel the loss of his presence the greatest, regardless of their personal circumstances. Pain is universal. Blessings to his family and most of all, his mother and father. They have lost their son. from Freeport, ME by Jen

Comment: Michael Jackson will no doubt be remembered as a musical superstar. Unfortunately, he will also be remembered as a superstar that faced many adversities and struggles and was judged by the public. As adults, it is important that we realize his childhood was darkened by family abuse and pressures beyond our understanding. Having said this, possibly it will allow us, as adults and parents to realize the pressures we put on our children and understand these will manifest in many ways down the road. Love and support your children, celebrate their accomplishments and wipe their tears when they fall...least the opportunities pass us by. from Winslow by Pamela
