Comment: I feel that he did address issues that are important to the state from oob by Babs
Comment: I don't think he's got a clue . from raymond by pat
Comment: I think governer baldacci is a bad joke. That guy just does not get it. He is a socalist- liberal smuck. The only people in maine that bennifit from this guy are people on welfare , section 8, and food stamps. the rest of us are screwed. We have some of the lowest wages, and highest cost of living in the country. His green jobs, and paving a few roads wont help me. I would like to see him and hanna pingrey live on $ 8to $10 dollars an hour. You cant do it. Baldacci has been one of the worst things that has happened to this state. Your libral tree huggers love him. People on state aid love him. Ask the struggling worker what the think. The democrats tax & spend, that is all they know how to do. They drive business out of the state. This state needs to smarten up. from waterford maine by chris
Comment: I didn't listen to the speech as there is not much he has to say I'd want to hear. I did however read the speech on-line after the fact and it contained his usual empty words. There are so many things wrong with this state that always remain unchanged. Until we have a state government that will govern rather than appease it will never get any better. We will continue to see businesses lelave for a more friendly tax environment and our young people will leave to find better opportunities elsewhere. Wake up MAINE!! from Topsham by Jim
Comment: The only thing the Governor did was help global warming along by opening his mouth and letting a bunch of hot air come out. He has no clue to whats going on or how to fix it. from Westbrook by Matt
Comment: Because the key issues are energy and economic development, which are inseparable. Renewable energy development will bring jobs in all sectors of the economy, and should have been a key focus for the past thirty years. The governor is absolutely right to say "Not this time. Not again. No more." It is way past time to finally end our unhealthy and dangerous reliance on imported oil! from Winthrop by Gary
Comment: I think we need a new govenor now! from Standish by Corey
Comment: It would have been nice if he had addressed these during his past few years in office. Too little, too late. Where's Angus? from Yarmouth by Teresa
Comment: He gave good speech, but it did little to address the immediate problems that face us right now in Maine. Many need help now,not sometime in the far off future. from Biddeford,ME by Rev.Brian
Comment: yes I do from Kennebunk,ME by Pat
Comment: My husband & I sat in front of the TV only to find regural programimg & not the State of the State address. What happened, the address was not shown on any of the Maine stations that we watch. We where very disappointed. from York, Maine by Joyce & Jon
Comment: state government can't even balance their own budjet and their money comes from the pockets of taxpayers. So how can any citizen have any faith in state government when they can't run their house in a responsible manner, whatsoever! from westbrook by thomas
Comment: He beat around the bush and as always, made candid promises he can't keep ! from Harrison by Cliff
Comment: Where are we getting money for the next budget short-fall? Stimulus III? Smokers? Government administration lay-offs?????? from Dixfield/ME by Corey
Comment: No. Even though he did make a lot of points about the economy, he won't do much to help. Maine has been one of the worst states to find a good paying job and we keep losing jobs. Pretty soon all we're going to have left is the government employees. Nobody can afford Maine anymore. No matter how hard we try telling Gov. Baldacci that, he still can't get it through his thick skull of his. from Standish by Tim
Comment: The Governor is such a joke. Cant wait for his term to end. from Livermore Me. by Eric
Comment: HE CAN TRY AND FING WAYS TO BRING THE ECONOMY BACK BUT HOW DOES HE WHEN PEOPLE ARE BLOCKING EVERTHING THAT TRIES TO COME INTO THE STATE. POLAND SPRING,WIND FARMS, AND EVERTHING ELSE THAT WOULD HELP. ITS TIME TO WAKE UP PEOPLE! WE HAVE LIVED IN THE DARK AGES A LONG TIME, IT TIME TO GET RID OF STICKING TO THE SAME OLD PLAN. POLAND SPRING ISNT GOING TO DRAIN ALL THE WATER, THE WIND FARMS ARENT HURTING ANYBODY, SO WHAT IT THE PROBLEM. WE ARE JUST LETTING JOBS AND NEW ENERGY SOLUTIONS PASS US BY BECAUSE PEOPLE DONT WANT ANYTHING IN THIS STATE. YOU WOULD THINK IN THESE ECONOMIC TIME PEOPLE WOULD BE WELCOMING NEW BUISSNESES AND COMPANIES IN THE STATE, EMPLOYMENT IS AT 7.8 PERCENT BUT JUST KEEP LETTING JOBS PASS BYE. from SOMEWHERE IN MAINE by A FRUSTRATED CITIZEN
Comment: All I can say is that I totally agree with Chris in Waterford....let us continue helping those who sit around sponging off taxpayers and have too many children....we should start spaying and neutering to cut overpopulation like we do with our pets.....I am fed up with paying for everybody else. from Arundel by p
Comment: I think he has a realistic view of our depressed economy and offered solutions. from Kkennebunk, by Theodore
Comment: Baldacci is a very ineffective government official. He certainly will not be remembered for anything triumphant. Take this joke of a Portland State Pier project, lets all fight and argue over who owns the land UNDER the pier. The longer we can drag that out the longer there would be no jobs! What do you think of that Baldacci? I have an idea, lets have the state gaming commission spend weeks meeting about letting that rip off joint Hollywood Slots open early on Sunday? If you really want to make an impact, get some tables in there so people will spend more money than PENNY machines! What do you think of that Baldacci? Lets raise tolls on the Maine Turnpike just at a time when people are struggling with unemployment and higher gas prices...WAIT..wasnt this highway already paid for years ago!! WAKE UP KIDS!! WE LIVE IN THE ARKANSAS OF THE NORTHEAST, NO MONEY..NO MONEY, NO MONEY!! STOP SPENDING MONEY WE DONT HAVE, STOP THE TALK AND WALK THE WALK OR YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF VOTED OUT....DIANA ICHTON FOR PREZ!!! from Portsmouth/NH by Rob
Comment: Taxes, taxes, taxes, taxes! from South Portland.ME by Mary R
Comment: governor baldacci has proven this state just gets deeper in trouble with a governor by Horace
