Comment: Are you kidding??????? from Portland
Comment: Is this a serious question? There is at least 800 billion dollars in new spending with the so-called stimulus package (which will incidentally do very little to actually stimulate the economy). Now he says he will cut the deficit in half. The way he will do this is by increasing taxes. It will be small businesses and higher-income individuals that will bear this tax burden. It's these two groups that are the engine of this economy, risking the capital and creating the jobs we all need. If they pay higher taxes, this incentive will be gone as well. If you don't believe me look at how the stock market tumbles every time Obama announces a new stimulus initiative. People are racing to get their money out of the stock market before Obama taxes it away from them. Look for our economic troubles to continue, at least until the mid-term elections of 2010. from South Portland / ME by Jim
