Comment: I have worked in a small store for 7 years now, and this past summer i noticed a significant decrease in sales from previous years; sales that we normally wouldnt see decrease until after the holidays started right after the summer tourists were gone. Preople simply aren't spending at all, and this makes me feel like I am just waiting for the axe to fall for me. I know my employer has to cut back to keep her business going. Comment: I work for a very small, locally owned company. They have had to cut back our hours, and coverage to make ends meet. I can easily foresee in the next year not having a job any more-- that's a frightening prospect, considering my limited field of expertise. I certainly cannot afford to go back to school and try another field of study, but I also do not see a future in Maine in this field.
