They want to forbid law enforcement from using any GPS location information against you, without a warrant. Saying it boils down to your constitutional right to privacy. But a leader from the attorney general's says the constitution doesn't really apply in this case because they're getting the info from a third party, the cell phone companies, and not you.
Opponents claim federal law already covers this and they're already getting search warrants and court orders now, while supporters say it's better to make Maine's law crystal clear on this issue. We'll track it for you and let you know if it passes.
