PORTLAND (WGME) -- Foodies rejoice! It's Maine Restaurant Week.
"Knowing that it's Restaurant Week, we're trying to go to at least a couple of resturants while we can," said Tim Chalmers of Portland, while dining in Buck's Naked BBQ Steakhouse.
More than 75 restaurants around the state are participating, many right here in Portland.
"People come right to the door asking if we're taking part in Restaurant Week," said Jessica Niles of Buck's Naked BBQ Steakhouse. "When we say 'yes,' they come in and have a seat."
Participating restaurants offer a variety of lunch and dinner deal options, both two and three course meals. There are both old and new favorites on the menu.
"We're trying new stuff on the menu," said Tsvetan Dimitrov of Bull Fenneys. "It's not our regular menu. We see the reaction of people when they like things or not. So, maybe we'll put them on the menu."
Staff say Restaurant Week is great for the diner and the restaurant. They say winter can be a little bit slower, but this brings people through the door.
"It's great for everyone - the businesses we buy our meat from, our staff here and everyone who is enjoying our food," said Niles.
"It's a pretty good boost for all the restaurants that are participating," said Dimitrov.
Restaurant Week runs through March 10.
