Gun control advocates are calling for a ban on some semi-automatic and assault weapons, saying they are unnecessary, and banning them does not violate the Second Amendment's protection for U.S. citizens to keep and bear arms.
The Sportsman's Alliance of Maine sent News 13 a statement, saying they hope the Vice President's commission will represent all points of view. The alliance says the focus is more complex than just being about guns.
