Police say the suspect showed up to the victim's house and said he was a law enforcement official following up on a civil complaint. Police say he told the victim if he gave him money he wouldn't arrest him. The victim complied, driving the suspect to a TD Bank and withdrawing money.
The suspect was not wearing any law enforcement gear and police say he had no ID or badge with him. The incident put some Windham residents are on edge. Police believe this is an isolated incident - but are still asking everyone to be vigilant - they say even an undercover officer will have an ID or a badge and you should always ask for it.
