Investigators say 23-year-old Derek Poulin is charged with murder and arson in the death of 62-year-old Patricia Noel. On Tuesday, when firefighters responded to a house fire on Wesley Street, they found Noel dead in her bedroom. The next day, Maine State Police joined the investigation, but would not release details about Noel's cause of death.
According to Maine State Police Spokesman Steve McCausland, Poulin and his father lived with Noel.
McCausland says lab results from the crime lab and evidence analyzed at the scene led to Poulin's arrest on Saturday. McCausland says Noel's cause of death will likely be released when Poulin appears in court on Monday or Tuesday.
