The dog bite happened late Tuesday afternoon along the Portland trails off Ocean Avenue in Portland, not far from the dog park there. The dog was a large Pit Bull or Rottweiler. It bit the young girl around 4:45 on Tuesday afternoon.
A babysitter and the dog's owner exchanged information, but the dog's owner gave a telephone number that doesn't work. The dog's owner said her name was Regina from Vermont. She was walking with a large group that included people with yellow labs.
The girl is doing ok, but her parents need to know if this dog has been vaccinated. They are seeking medical information only, so if you have any information, you're asked to call the Falmouth Police Department at 207-781-2300.
