The Sarah Mildred Long Bridge, which connects Maine to New Hampshire, reopened Saturday night to boats and could reopen to vehicles as soon as Monday morning.
DOT officials tell News 13 that the lift span of the bridge was raised at 6:40 p.m. Saturday for vessels carrying oil. The DOT says the lift span will be lowered Sunday by 2 p.m. and that the traffic portion of the bridge should be open for traffic by Monday morning.
Once the lift span is lowered, there will be further testing to make sure it is operational, the DOT said.
The bridge didn't fully close Wednesday, possibly because of the cold, and has remained closed to traffic in and out of Maine and New Hampshire ever since.
