BIDDEFORD (WGME) -- Lightning has struck not once, but twice, for a Biddeford auction house.
Saco River Auction Company will sell a rare photograph of the 1865 Brooklyn Atlantics baseball team. The Atlantics are credited as being America's first professional baseball team. Auctioneers say the only other known version of this photograph is in the Library of Congress in Washington D.C.
This auction house is the same one that sold a rare 1888 baseball card depicting Hall of Famer Michael "King" Kelly last summer for over $72,000. Auctioneer and Manager Troy Thibodeau says the Atlantics photograph could go for $100,000 or more.
Thibodeau says a man bought a box of pictures at a yard sale in Washington County, Maine several months ago. When the man got home and looked through the box, he found the baseball picture.
Two other great finds up for auction along with the baseball team picture on February 6, are campaign pins for President Abraham Lincoln and his opponent Stephen Douglas. The pin shows Lincoln before he was elected president and before he had his famous beard.
