He was officially sworn in Sunday, but on Monday President Obama gave his inaugural address to the nation and to the nearly 800,000 people who packed the National Mall.

Hundreds of thousands watched as President Obama placed his hand on two bibles to recite the oath. One bible used by the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. to mark this national holiday, and the other used by Abraham Lincoln.
President Obama is only the 17th president in history to be elected to a second term. The president made reference during his 18-minute speech, of the challenges that lie ahead. He mentioned health care, the debt ceiling, and of course one of the most heated topics right now - gun control.
The 44th president launched his second term with a call for the United States to continue it's never ending journey to live up to the ideals of its founders.
President Obama: America's possibilities are limitless, for we possess all the qualities that this world without boundaries demands: youth and drive; diversity and openness; an endless capacity for risk and a gift for reinvention. My fellow Americans, we are made for this moment, and we will seize it - so long as we seize it together.
