Streets found impassible for emergency vehicles have had the parking on one side restricted, said Nicole Clegg, director of communications for the city of Portland. While the emergency no parking signs are immediately in effect, vehicles will not be towed until twelve hours have passed from the street.
Crews will then begin removing snow in order to ensure that the street is passable when cars are parked on both sides. The snow removal process is expected to last several days.
