The church helps people with their spirituality, but it’s one of three locations where thieves helped themselves to the church's kerosene.
Paul Hall, pastor: "Upset. Mad. Disappointed. That's right. Also hurt, it’s a pretty small community. I think is an all likelihood whomever came probably knows people in the church. It’s hard to think they don't."
Paul Hall is the pastor and doesn't understand why anyone would target his church. Investigators believe someone, or several people, pulled up to the church and siphoned about 100 gallons from kerosene from this tank at the back of the building. They are not sure if it happened in one theft or in a series of thefts.
Two other homes were hit, one on Souther Road, the other on Deepo Street.
Hall says he believes the church's location made it an easy target for thieves. There are no neighbors and all someone had to do was to back up to this gas tank, pop open the cover and start siphoning the kerosene. He says one thing they'll now be doing differently is keeping the tank half full to make it harder for a similar theft to happen again."
Police have no suspects in custody. If you have any information on the thefts, you are asked to contact them
