Strong is accused on 59 misdemeanor counts including promotion of prostitution, violation of privacy, and conspiracy to commit those crimes. Prosecutors accuse Strong of working with alleged prostitute Alexis Wright to promote a prostitution sex ring involving 150 clients whose sexual encounters were secretly recorded on videotapes and computers.
Strong, who has a wife and children, admits to having sex with wright, who has a family herself. But strong says it was only physical and that he never paid for it. Strong is a former private investigator who now owns an insurance agency.
He also admits giving Alexis Wright money to open her Pita Vida Zumba studio in Kennebunk, where strong days he consigned the lease. But strong has denied any involvement in the promotion of prostitution.
However prosecutors say Wright and Strong kept meticulous records of the alleged prostitution business they ran together. Prosecutors believe that evidence, and the testimony of 30 witnesses they plan to call, many of them johns who have pleaded guilty, will be more than enough to convince a jury of Mark Strong Sr.s guilt.
