Canadian lobsterman Scott Johnson is fed up. He says processors are buying lower quality lobster from Maine at a lower price, squeezing him out of the market. The Canadian lobster season starts in a week.
But here in Maine, the early lobster season has created a glut in the market and very low prices, as low as $2 a pound.
These Canadian lobstermen say processors won't buy their catches. They say they need at least $4 a pound to break even and they are taking matters into their own hands, blockading the processing plants.
The angry lobstermen blocked truckloads of Maine lobster from entering the plant, the trucks had to get a police escort back to Maine.
That action has gotten the attention of Maine's congressional delegation and governor who have pledged to take this fight all the way to the Canadian premier if they have to.
The Canadian lobstermen aren't backing down either. They say they will continue to protest at other processors across New Brunswick.
