Kim Block has been following his story since his diagnosis in 2007.
We went along for a good portion of Dr. Bruce Churchill's journey with ALS, doing our first interview shortly after his diagnosis.
As is the case with ALS, the disease continued to progress. And Dr. Churchill continued to show incredible courage and strength, seeing patients as long as he possibly could. He finally said goodbye to them in a farewell celebration that had people lining up around the building.
It was clear that day, what Dr. Churchill has meant to the Maine community, and thousands of patients and friends.
Even after he stopped seeing patients, Dr. Churchill continued to share his other great passion, coaching the Greely Girls Volleyball Team and when they won their ninth state championship, he couldn't have been more proud.
This is not just a professional tribute. It's a personal one. As I've shared before, this is Dr. Churchill delivering my firstborn. Dr. Bruce Churchill changed lives, saved lives and will continue to inspire lives.
