Fire at Portsmouth art gallery
PORTSMOUTH (WGME) -- A fire that threatened an art gallery in Portsmouth Friday is under investigation.
Firefighters responded to the building on State Street around 2 p.m.
Smoke was reported coming from the roof. Firefighters and neighbors helped get paintings out of the building. They were kept inside a neighboring business.
No one was hurt, but there is heavy smoke and water damage to the second and third floors, along with fire damage on the top floor.
Investigators say the fire is not suspicious.
