Firefighter accused of faking report of assault

GORHAM (WGME) -- Police say a woman, described by the Portland Press Herald as a member of both the Gorham and Westbrook Fire Departments, filed a false report about being attacked last month.

Police say 22-year-old Rachael Welsh filed a report last month, saying she was attacked by two men in a pick-up truck.

Welsh was issued a summons three days later, in which police say the report was false.

She is due in court on February 13th, charged with filing a false police report.
