AUGUSTA (WGME) -- About 2,500 Augusta residents may have been briefly confused, after they got a tax bill from the City of South Portland.

A city clerk says one company sends out bills to both cities and says it simply sent the bills out on the wrong stationary.

The company has since fixed the situation and sent out new bills on the correct stationary at no charge to the city.2,500 Augusta residents confused after a tax bill from South Portland.
