FREEPORT (WGME) -- The general manager of a restaurant that received a failed inspection says positives can be taken out of it.

The Freeport Cafe failed a recent health inspection. An inspector found 14 violations, six of which are considered critical. The report found that food contact surfaces weren't clean both in sight and in touch, and that staffers handled food without gloves.

"It was like a kick in the pants," said General Manager Amy Gillis.

Gillis says staffers cleaned up, and the cafe passed it's follow-up inspection.Report 66: August 21, 2014
