STATEWIDE (WGME) -- New owners could mean a fresh start for a Chinese restaurant that failed its last regular health inspection and a pizza place has the right ingredients for perfect inspection.

CBS 13 reached out to Mei Le Wah restaurant in Kennebunk after getting their inspection. The restaurant failed it's last regular inspection for problems like potentially hazardous food not maintained at 41 degrees or less, pork the inspector says was at 48 degrees, food contact surfaces and utensils are not clean. The inspector says a cleaver needed cleaning - that was corrected on the spot. The report also included food not protected from contamination because food items were stored uncovered and on the floor.

When CBS 13 called the restaurant, the woman on the phone identified herself as Dong, the manager. She says that inspection was under old management and there are new owners who  work to make sure "everything exceeds inspection standards."
Mei Le Wah easily passed the follow-up inspection.

In the CBS 13 Gold Plate Award for an exceptional health inspection, the health inspector didn't find a single violation on the last regular inspection at the Pizza Hut on Main Street in Sanford.
