China Earthquake Hits Home 06/06/2008 The death toll continues to climb from last month's earthquake in China. Nearly 70,000 people are now dead. To put that in perspective, that's equal to the population of the City of Portland. China may be 8,000 miles away. But, the impact of that devastating earthquake is being felt right here in Maine by a 3rd grade girl born in China. She's trying to raise money to help children in China.
